The Baylor college of Medicine Roy Cullen Tower is an 11 storey, 500,000 square foot health sciences facility in Houston, Texas. Upon Completion, it will be one of the largest medical education buildings in the United States. The design aimed to reference iconic architectural features from the original Cullen building while incorporating progressive elements fore clinical care, research and medical education.
Challenges included:
- Free spanning unitized modules of 23+ feet
- Integration of stone panels with a unitized façade
- Single extruded 27” deep perforated decorative fins
Our solution included fully custom curtain wall and window wall systems with single source supply for the building envelope, with GUTMANN supplying stone cladding receptors, all decorative slab bypasses, fins, and sunshades.
